Job summary

Qatar Airways Group is seeking an experienced Manager of Procurement for IT Category to lead strategic sourcing, develop category strategies and drive cost savings. You will interface with senior management and key stakeholders to ensure value, compliance and superior supplier performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with minimum 8 years of job-related experience.
Strong IT category specific experience - minimum 5 years
Fluent command of English language
Ability to work in a very dynamic environment, under pressure, with multiple stakeholders
Ability to influence, convince, and build effective business relationships across diverse groups of people.
Service-oriented mindset, with a desire to ensure stakeholder satisfaction
Excellent negotiation planning, management and execution skills
Contractual and Financial acumen.
Planning, problem solving and decision making abilities.
Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members

Responsibilities

Provide strategic IT category planning within the organisation.
Develop cost saving plans for QR Group from budgeted amounts to reduce overall expenditure.
Define supply strategy for relevant IT product categories.
Develop cross functional strategic planning with colleagues to maximise QR value.
Review and input to department policies and processes for best practice.
Ensure high service levels from Procurement team including timelines, professionalism, communications and expectations.
Set and achieve IT Category KPIs and monitor progress.
Review and endorse documents for compliance and best practice.
Negotiate with key suppliers on costs, terms and assists reports on this where required.
Assist in developing the departmental budget and manage project delivery timelines.
Provide comprehensive summaries and data for reporting on spend and timelines.
Run and action performance reports on assigned Categories to improve processes.
Challenge timelines, specs and sourcing methods to achieve optimal QR outcomes.
Prioritize workload and tenders for the Category Team.
Forward planning for procurement activities with senior management.
Perform other department duties as directed by Head of Department
