Job Purpose: The Internal Audit Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and executing the risk-based annual internal audit plan across all business entities and operational processes, with a strong focus on the FMCG and distribution footprint. This role provides independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve operational efficiency, internal controls, risk management, and governance practices.

The Internal Audit Manager oversees the audit team, manages complex forensic investigations and stock-take audits, ensures compliance with IIA standards and regulatory requirements, and delivers high-impact executive reporting and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and the Audit Committee.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
  • 1. Strategic Audit Planning & Risk Management: Lead the annual enterprise risk assessment to design, update, and execute a comprehensive, risk-based Annual Audit Plan for FMCG operations, production, supply chain, and corporate functions. Define audit scope, objectives, resource allocation, and project timelines across all assigned business units. Continuously evaluate emerging operational, financial, and strategic risks in the FMCG sector and adjust audit coverage accordingly.
  • 2. Audit Execution & Team Supervision: Supervise and drive the end-to-end execution of financial, operational, compliance, stock-take, and IT audit engagements. Review all detailed working papers, test procedures, and risk findings prepared by Senior and Staff Auditors to ensure high factual accuracy, objective evidence, and alignment with auditing standards. Oversee audit project management via TeamMate, ensuring full integrity of data, evidence filing, and procedure completion. Set team productivity metrics, monitor project budgets/deadlines, and ensure audit engagements are completed efficiently.
  • 3. Reporting & Executive Stakeholder Management: Draft, review, and finalize high-quality audit reports, including Executive Summaries, root-cause analyses, and actionable recommendations. Present final audit results and strategic insights to departmental heads, senior executive management, and branch/plant managers during formal close-out meetings. Facilitate the ongoing tracking and verification of audit recommendation implementation, issuing periodic status reports to executive leadership.
  • 4. Forensic Investigations & Special Management Requests: Lead preliminary and complex forensic investigations into suspected fraud, financial irregularities, or operational breaches. Execute high-priority, ad-hoc management reviews and stock-take audit oversight, delivering comprehensive investigation reports under tight deadlines.

Maintain and enhance internal audit policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and control testing frameworks. Expand the deployment of computer-assisted audit techniques (CAATs) using IDEA, ACL, and SAP data analytics to automate control testing and detect anomalies.
  • 6. Team Leadership, Mentorship & Performance: Manage, mentor, and build technical capabilities across the audit team (Senior Auditors, Staff Auditors, and Trainees/Graduates). Conduct regular performance appraisals, provide constructive feedback, and identify ongoing professional development needs. Promote a high-performance, collaborative, and accountable working culture within the department.
