Job summary

Hydrofab Services in Doha is seeking a skilled hydraulic technician responsible for inspection, dismantling, repair, assembly and testing of hydraulic cylinders used in industrial and mobile applications. You will perform precision measurements, identify wear and defects, and restore components to required specifications.

Responsibilities include dismantling/assembling single-acting, double-acting and telescopic cylinders, inspecting components, performing DPT, and ensuring traceability.

Qualifications

• ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with hydraulic cylinder repair and maintenance.
• Familiarity with industrial, mobile, oil & gas, construction environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle, inspect, repair and reassemble hydraulic cylinders.
• Perform precision measurements and testing (pressure and functional testing).
• Inspect components and replace seals, glands, bushes and other consumables.
• Follow engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances and repair procedures.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic cylinder failures and support site work as needed.

Job description

Responsible for the inspection, dismantling, repair, assembly and testing of hydraulic cylinders used in industrial and mobile hydraulic applications. The technician must be capable of carrying out precision measurements, identifying component wear and damage and ensuring cylinders are restored to the required specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Dismantle and assemble hydraulic cylinders including single-acting double-acting and telescopic cylinders safely and correctly Inspect cylinder barrels pistons rods glands bushes seals and other components Identify wear damage corrosion scoring leakage and other defects Carry out accurate dimensional inspections using o Micrometerso Bore gaugeso Vernier caliperso Dial gaugeso Other precision measuring instrumentsCheck cylinder barrel ID piston OD rod OD gland dimensions and required clearances Perform cylinder barrel honing and rod polishing ensuring the required dimensions and surface finish are achieved Assist the machinist with machining of pistons glands bushes and other cylinder components Inspect and replace seals guide rings wear rings bushes and other consumables Follow engineering drawings specifications tolerances and repair procedures during the work Maintain proper identification and traceability of components during dismantling inspection repair and assembly Be capable of carrying out Dye Penetrant Testing DPT for weld crack inspection Have good knowledge of hydraulic seal materials seal profiles preloading requirements and their applications Carry out pressure and functional testing of hydraulic cylinders after repair including o End-to-end testingo Mid-position testingo Pressure holding leakage testingRecord inspection measurements findings repair details and test results accurately Assist with troubleshooting and technical assessment of hydraulic cylinder failures Support site work when required for cylinder inspection removal installation commissioning and troubleshooting Maintain workshop tools measuring instruments machinery and equipment in good condition Follow all company HSE procedures and safe working practices Maintain good housekeeping and workshop discipline Work independently as well as effectively as part of a team

Qualification & Experience

ITI / Diploma or equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.5-8 years of relevant experience in hydraulic cylinder repair and maintenance.Strong hands-on experience in a hydraulic repair workshop.Experience with industrial, mobile, oil & gas, construction, heavy-equipment, or other high-pressure hydraulic cylinders is preferred.
