Job summary

Hydrofab Services in Doha seeks a skilled Hydraulic Technician to dismantle, inspect, repair and test hydraulic pumps and motors used in open-loop and closed-loop systems. You will perform precision measurements, interpret schematics, identify root causes of failures, and support on-site commissioning.

Requirements include a Diploma/ITI in Mechanical Engineering or hydraulics, 5–8 years of hands-on experience, and the ability to work independently within a team.

Qualifications

• ITI/ diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Hydraulics, or related technical field.
• 5-8 years of hands-on experience in hydraulic pump and motor repair, refurbishment, and testing.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle and assemble hydraulic pumps and motors safely and correctly.
• Inspect components for wear, scoring, cavitation, corrosion and defects.
• Carry out precision dimensional inspections using micrometers, vernier calipers, and other instruments.
• Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, assembly drawings, parts lists and control circuits.
• Identify root causes of pump and motor failures and replace seals, bearings and O-rings as required.
• Perform pre-testing inspections and bench testing of pumps and motors.
• Prepare service and inspection reports and assist with site troubleshooting and commissioning.

Job description

Responsible for the inspection dismantling repair refurbishment assembly testing and troubleshooting of hydraulic pumps and motors used in both open-loop and closed-loop circuits The technician should have strong practical experience with various types of hydraulic pumps and motors including their control systems and must be capable of identifying component wear carrying out precision measurements replacing required parts and performing performance bench testing as per the hydraulic control schematic and manufacturer s specifications

Key Responsibilities

• Dismantle and assemble hydraulic pumps and motors safely and correctly
• Inspect and assess internal components for wear damage scoring cavitation corrosion and other defects
• Carry out precision dimensional inspections using o Micrometerso Vernier caliperso Dial gaugeso Other appropriate precision measuring instruments
• Inspect and measure critical components including o Pistons o Cylinder blocks o Valve plates o Swash plates o Shafts o Bearings o Bushes o Servo and control components
• Identify the root cause of pump and motor failures
• Replace seals bearings O-rings retaining rings and other required spare parts
• Carry out lapping polishing and other component restoration processes whererequired
• Check critical component clearances and ensure they are within the manufacturer sspecifications
• Read and interpret hydraulic schematics assembly drawings parts lists controlcircuits and service manuals
• Maintain proper identification and traceability of components during dismantling inspection repair and assembly
• Assemble pumps and motors according to manufacturer specifications andrequired torque values
• Carry out pre-testing inspections before mounting the unit on the test bench
• Perform pressure flow displacement leakage efficiency and functionaltesting of pumps and motors according to the control schematic andmanufacturer s test procedures
• Troubleshoot pumps and motors during testing and identify abnormal noise vibration leakage pressure loss flow loss or other performance issues
• Verify the operation and adjustment of pump motor control systems during benchtesting
• Record test results inspection measurements repair findings and control settingsaccurately
• Prepare service reports and inspection reports when required
• Assist with site troubleshooting removal installation commissioning andperformance testing of hydraulic pumps and motors
• Support servicing and repair of high-pressure hydraulic equipment and RESATOsystems where applicable
• Maintain workshop tools test benches measuring instruments and equipment ingood working condition
• Follow all company HSE procedures and safe working practices
• Maintain good housekeeping and workshop discipline
• Work independently and effectively as part of a team

Required Technical Skills

Strong hands-on experience with axial piston radial piston gear vane and othertypes of hydraulic pumps and motors Experience with hydraulic pump motor valve from manufacturers such asRexroth Danfoss Linde Eaton Parker Hydac and other equivalent brands Good understanding of both open-loop and closed-loop hydraulic systems Strong understanding of hydraulic pump and motor control systems Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic circuits and identify pump motor-related problems Ability to read and understand hydraulic schematics control circuits andtechnical drawings Good knowledge of hydraulic seals and rotating-group components Good understanding of pump and motor controls including o Pressure compensatoro Load-sensing controlo Flow compensatoro Torque power controlo Servo controlo Electrical hydraulic control systemso Proportional control systems Ability to use manufacturer service manuals technical documentation and partscatalogues for repair and component identification Ability to carry out precision measurement and inspection of critical rotating andhydraulic components Ability to set up and operate a hydraulic pump motor test bench and interpret testresults

Preferred Industry Experience

Experience in oil & gas, drilling equipment, construction equipment, marine, heavyequipment, or industrial hydraulic systems is an advantage.Experience with high-pressure hydraulic systems and RESATO equipment will be anadded advantage.
