Job summary

Mekdam Technical Services is seeking an HVAC Chiller Technician with 5+ years of hands-on experience in industrial HVAC, preferably in oil and gas. A Diploma in Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning is required to join a team tackling complex chillers and systems.

You will diagnose and repair HVAC equipment, install and commission systems, read drawings, and work safely in hazardous environments. On-call rotations and reporting are expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning from a recognized institute.
• More than five years hands-on experience in industrial HVAC systems, preferably in oil and gas field or similar hazardous environments.
• Experience in installation, inspection and commissioning of HVAC systems and their integration with plant monitoring systems.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Welding and soldering techniques and readiness for on-call emergency support.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair or replace faulty HVAC components to ensure system reliability.
• Install, inspect and commission HVAC systems in industrial settings.
• Read mechanical and electrical drawings and troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment.
• Work safely in hazardous areas and manage equipment in extreme conditions.
• Prepare progress reports and attend toolbox meetings; respond to after-hours breakdowns.

Job description

Job Title: HVAC Chiller Technician.

Education Qualification:

Regular Full time Diploma in Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning from a recognized institute.

Work Experience:

More than five (5) Years hands on experience in industrial HVAC systems, preferably in oil and gas

field or similar Hazardous environments.

Technician who has previous working experience in Company will be preferred.

Communication & Competencies:

Candidate must achieve a minimum score of 70 % on the written HVAC examination in order to be

considered for personal interview and selection.

Proficiency in English language– Read, speak with effective verbal communication and report

writing.

Technical work Competencies:

Knowledge of HVAC principles, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.

Extensive knowledge in diagnosing HVAC equipment, troubleshooting issues, performing repair or

replacement of faulty components, and ensuring the overall functionality and efficiency of HVAC

systems in industrial settings.

Familiarity with industrial-grade HVAC equipment and controls.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical wiring diagrams and schematics.

Troubleshoot live 415 Volt control circuits on large chillers and Air-Conditioning systems that

interface with the programmable logic control (PLC).

Understanding of pressurization systems and their importance in Hazardous areas.

Familiarity with filtration systems for dust, chemical contamination, and odors.

Experience in installation, inspection, and commissioning of HVAC systems and their integration

plant monitoring systems.

Work independently under limited supervision.

Serves as the On-call technician as a part of a holiday rotation, responding to emergency and

after-hours breakdown calls.

Welding and soldering techniques.

Capability to work in challenging environments (e.g. extreme weather conditions).

Experience of conducting / attending toolbox meetings for work activity.

Prepare progress reports on MS-office.

HSEQ Competencies:

Well versed with application, use, hazards area classification, safety precaution, action in case of

emergency of the hazardous chemicals / Pressurized gas cylinders, materials used in the Oil & Gas

industries and to perform the Installation / Maintenance activity safely.

Well versed with Work permit/Work clearance system in large scale process industries.
