Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a Head of SHES for a major Oil & Gas project in Doha, Qatar. You will lead SHES across onshore and offshore pipeline construction, installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.

The role requires a senior leader with a Bachelor’s degree, NVQ Level 6/7, and at least 10 years SHES experience in the oil and gas industry, plus offshore and contractor-management expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science, safety, health, environment, security, or engineering.
• NVQ Level 6 or Level 7 qualification mandatory.
• Minimum 10 years SHES experience in Oil & Gas.
• Minimum 2 years in supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong offshore experience in pipeline construction, installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.
• Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, and vendor personnel.
• Knowledge of SHES management systems, risk management, ALARP principles, incident investigation, and emergency response.
• Experience supporting large-scale Oil & Gas projects on both onshore and offshore scopes.

Responsibilities

• Lead SHES activities during pipeline construction, installation, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up phases.
• Provide strategic SHES guidance to Project Management Teams and Contractors.
• Review and approve contractor SHES plans and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate SHES audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
• Drive Incident & Injury Free culture across the project.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Monitor contractor SHES performance and regulatory compliance.
• Support emergency preparedness, response planning, and workforce training programs.
• Provide weekly and monthly SHES performance reporting to senior management.
• Promote proactive safety leadership and continuous improvement.

Work Schedule: 6 Days per Week

Rotation: 12 Weeks ON / 2 Weeks OFF
