Job summary

Confidential in Doha is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to design and supervise the installation and testing of fire alarm systems in line with QCD, NFPA, and QCS requirements. The role involves coordinating with Civil Defense authorities and project teams to ensure compliant, timely handover of systems.

The ideal candidate will hold a UPDA Grade C, a valid QID with visa transfer eligibility, and 3–7 years of relevant experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software.

Qualifications

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Able to design fire alarm and detection systems based on project requirements
• Prepare shop drawings, layout plans, schematics, and BOQs
• Ensure all designs strictly comply with QCD regulations, NFPA codes (especially NFPA 72), and QCS requirements
• Select appropriate fire alarm system components and equipment
• Supervise installation works on-site
• Perform testing, commissioning, and system handover
• Ensure installations meet QCD approval standards and NFPA guidelines
• Coordinate inspections with Qatar Civil Defense (QCD)

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance
• Identify and resolve faults in fire alarm systems
• Ensure systems remain fully operational and compliant with QCD & NFPA standards

Compliance & Approvals

• Ensure full compliance with QCD, NFPA, and QCS regulations at all stages
• Prepare and submit documents required for QCD approval
• Liaise with QCD inspectors and authorities for system approvals and inspections

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare technical reports, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings
• Maintain records aligned with QCD and QCS documentation requirements

Project Coordination

• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and project teams
• Ensure project execution meets regulatory and safety standards (QCD, NFPA, QCS)
• Monitor timelines, quality, and compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
• Must possess a valid Qatar Driving License
• Must hold a valid QID and be eligible for visa transfer
• Must hold at least UPDA Grade C certification
• Must be QCD approved Fire Alarm Engineer Experience
• Minimum 3–7 years of experience in fire alarm systems
• Proven experience with projects requiring QCD approval
• Strong knowledge of QCS and NFPA codes
