Job summary

Advanced Construction Technology Services seeks a Field Density Test (FDT) Technician to perform field density and moisture tests on construction sites in Qatar. You will operate sand cone, core cutter, or nuclear density gauge, collect samples, and ensure accurate data collection and timely reporting.

Applicants should hold a higher secondary certificate or higher with a valid FDT license from MECC, Qatar, and 2–5 years of experience in field density or soil testing.

Qualifications

• Higher secondary certificate or higher with a valid FDT license from MECC, Qatar.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in field density testing, soil testing, or construction material testing.
• Experience with ASTM/AASHTO/BS testing standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform field density tests using sand cone, core cutter, or nuclear density gauge as applicable.
• Carry out moisture content tests and calculate field density and percentage compaction.
• Collect soil, aggregate, and construction material samples from sites.
• Prepare field test reports and testing documentation.
• Coordinate with site engineers and lab personnel on testing requirements and results.
• Maintain calibration status and ensure proper handling of testing equipment.

FDT Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Field Density Tests (FDT) using the sand cone method, core cutter method, and/or nuclear density gauge as applicable.
• Perform moisture content tests and calculate field density and percentage compaction.
• Collect soil, aggregate, and construction material samples from the site as required.
• Carry out field testing activities in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, BS, and project-specific standards.
• Operate, maintain, and ensure proper handling of field-testing equipment.
• Verify equipment calibration status before conducting tests.
• Prepare accurate field test reports, daily activity records, and testing documentation.
• Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and laboratory personnel regarding testing requirements and results.
• Ensure all test results are properly recorded and submitted within the required timeframe.
• Follow site safety requirements, including PPE usage and safe working practices.
• Maintain radiation safety procedures when operating nuclear density gauges (if applicable).
• Support laboratory operations and other material testing activities when required.

Qualifications & Experience

Higher secondary school certificate or higher Valid FDT license from MECC, Qatar Minimum 2–5 years of experience in field density testing, soil testing, or construction material testing.
