Job summary

Swan Global in Dukhan, Qatar is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair high-voltage power distribution systems within Dukhan Fields. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience with preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical equipment up to 33kV, preferably in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industries.

This contract role runs for 1 month with possible extension, 9 hours per day, and client-provided food, accommodation, and

Qualifications

• Trade certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in operation and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems.
• Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry experience preferred; 33kV capability.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HV power distribution up to 33kV.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults in HV equipment.
• Maintain substations, switchboards, transformers and related systems.
• Inspect AC/DC UPS, battery banks, cables, lighting and earthing.
• Ensure maintenance follows safety standards and permit-to-work procedures.
• Document maintenance records and report defects.
• Interpret electrical drawings and technical manuals.
• Assist in installation, testing, commissioning, and shutdowns.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to perform operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of high-voltage electrical power distribution systems within Dukhan Fields. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical equipment up to 33kV, preferably in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical power distribution systems up to 33kV.
• Troubleshoot and rectify electrical faults in high-voltage and power distribution equipment.
• Carry out maintenance of substations, switchboards, transformers, and associated electrical systems.
• Inspect, maintain, and test AC UPS, DC UPS, battery banks, overhead lines, power cables, lighting systems, and earthing systems.
• Perform routine inspections and ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
• Assist in installation, testing, commissioning, and shutdown maintenance activities.
• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with company procedures, electrical safety standards, and permit-to-work requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report equipment defects and completed work.

Qualifications & Experience

• Trade Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems.
• Experience in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry is preferred.
• Proven experience in preventive and corrective maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems up to 33kV.
