Job summary

Alwadi Doha – MGallery Hotel Collection is seeking a dedicated Duty Engineer to oversee daily engineering operations, preventive maintenance, and quick response to requests, ensuring safe, efficient facilities and guest comfort.

You will monitor electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing systems; coordinate with internal teams and external contractors; maintain accurate records and uphold safety standards to keep guests and Heartists safe and comfortable.

Qualifications

• Diploma or technical qualification in Engineering or related field.
• Experience in a hotel environment preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and safety mindset.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily engineering operations and respond to maintenance requests.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of hotel facilities, equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimize disruption to hotel operations.
• Monitor electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing and other building systems.
• Conduct regular inspections and ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate and follow up on maintenance requests and work orders.
• Respond to emergencies and breakdowns and take appropriate corrective action.
• Ensure all engineering activities comply with safety standards and hotel procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
• Coordinate with other hotel departments and external contractors as required.
• Support and guide Engineering team members during daily operations.

What you will be doing:

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

• Diploma or technical qualification in Engineering or a related field.
• Previous experience in a similar engineering role, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Good knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and building systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and team coordination skills.
• Proactive, reliable, and safety-conscious approach to work.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
