Job summary

Hey Rocket is seeking a highly experienced Drainage Operations Advisor to join a major Qatar-based DNOMD project. This long-term opportunity targets senior professionals with extensive wastewater, drainage operations and maintenance expertise.

The role requires guiding governance, technical and financial strategy, while ensuring regulatory compliance and high safety/quality standards across the enterprise asset systems and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or a relevant discipline.
• Engineering qualification from North America, Western Europe or Australia.
• Total experience: 30+ years.
• 10+ years in the Wastewater Industry.
• 5+ years in an Operations & Maintenance organization.
• Extensive knowledge of the Wastewater Industry.
• Strong knowledge of Operations & Maintenance, Project Management, Contract Management and/or Financial Management.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety, Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures.
• Experience in a multidisciplinary organization, preferably in the Middle East.
• Senior advisory or strategic roles within drainage/wastewater infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical, strategic and financial advice on DNO&M operations in Qatar.
• Support development and implementation of DNOMD vision, mission, values and strategic direction.
• Advise senior management on operational, maintenance, technical and business matters.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, governance requirements and industry standards.
• Support EDAMS, EAMS and other related systems and processes.
• Advise and manage PMC consultants to control operational risks and realize contractual benefits.
• Evaluate policies, programs and practices and recommend improvements.
• Drive alignment, operational efficiency and business transformation across sections.
• Provide strategic oversight of operations and maintenance delivery, including water and wastewater treatment.
• Ensure high standards of conduct, ethics, safety and quality.

HIRING: DRAINAGE OPERATIONS ADVISOR – QATAR

We are looking for a highly experienced Drainage Operations Advisor to join a major DNOMD (Drainage Network Operations, Maintenance & Development) project in Qatar.

This is a long-term opportunity for a senior professional with extensive experience in the wastewater, drainage operations and maintenance sector.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide expert technical, strategic and financial advice on DNO&M operations in Qatar
• Support the development and implementation of DNOMD vision, mission, values and strategic direction
• Advise senior management on operational, maintenance, technical and business matters
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, governance requirements and industry standards
• Support effective implementation of Enterprise Drainage Asset Management System (EDAMS), Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS) and other relevant systems and processes
• Advise and manage PMC consultants where required, ensuring operational risks are controlled and contractual benefits are achieved
• Evaluate policies, programmes and operational practices and recommend improvements
• Drive alignment, operational efficiency and business transformation across relevant sections
• Provide strategic oversight of operations and maintenance delivery, including water treatment and wastewater treatment functions
• Ensure the highest standards of professional conduct, ethics, integrity, safety and quality

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher qualification in Engineering or a relevant discipline
• Engineering qualification obtained from North America, Western Europe or Australia
• Minimum 30 years of total professional experience
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the Wastewater Industry
• Minimum 5 years of experience within an Operations & Maintenance organization
• Extensive knowledge and experience in the Wastewater Industry
• Strong knowledge of Operations & Maintenance, Project Management, Contract Management and/or Financial Management
• Knowledge of Health & Safety, Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary organization, preferably in the Middle East
• Experience in senior advisory, operational or strategic roles within drainage/wastewater infrastructure

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

• Accreditation from the Institute of Asset Management (IAM) or a similar professional body
• Chartered Membership in a relevant professional discipline, such as Engineering
• Previous experience with major infrastructure, drainage or wastewater programs in the Middle East

We are particularly interested in senior professionals who have worked on large-scale wastewater, drainage or civil infrastructure programs and have strong experience in operations, maintenance, asset management and strategic advisory functions.
