Job summary

Confidential is seeking an experienced Corporate Compliance & Governance Leader to establish and run an enterprise-wide compliance framework in Qatar. You will embed integrity, accountability, and regulatory excellence with executive leadership and across the organization.

The ideal candidate brings 15+ years in compliance, governance, risk, or regulatory roles, proven hands-on capability to build a lean function, and strong stakeholder management skills, with ICA/GRC or related certifications

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in compliance, governance, risk, legal, or regulatory functions.
• Proven experience building and implementing a corporate or regulatory compliance framework.
• Hands-on leadership of a lean compliance function.
• Strong stakeholder management with senior leadership.
• Professional qualifications such as ICA, GRC, governance, risk, compliance, audit, or related certifications.
• Fluency in English; Arabic language skills would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and lead the organization's corporate compliance framework.

• Oversee compliance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, delegated authorities, and codes of conduct.

• Provide compliance advisory support to business leaders and executive stakeholders.
• Promote a culture of ethics, governance, transparency, and accountability across the organization.
• Establish and manage compliance reporting, governance forums, and key compliance metrics.
• Build and lead a lean compliance function while remaining hands-on in execution.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on compliance, governance, and regulatory matters.

A leading organization in Qatar is seeking an experienced Corporate Compliance & Governance Leader to establish, lead, and continuously enhance its enterprise-wide compliance framework.

This is a unique opportunity for a senior compliance professional to build and operate a mature compliance function, working closely with executive leadership to embed a strong culture of integrity, accountability, and regulatory compliance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and lead the organization's corporate compliance framework.
• Develop compliance policies, procedures, standards, and monitoring mechanisms.
• Oversee compliance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, delegated authorities, and codes of conduct.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are particularly interested in professionals who have:

• 15+ years of relevant experience in compliance, governance, risk, legal, or regulatory functions.
• Demonstrated experience building and implementing a corporate or regulatory compliance framework from inception.
• Led a compliance function independently with the ability to operate effectively with limited oversight.
• Strong expertise in the Corporate Compliance, Regulatory Compliance, Compliance Monitoring & Assurance, Compliance Advisory, Conduct & Regulatory Compliance, Risk & Governance, Ethics & Business Conduct
• Experience operating within regulatory environments, public sector organizations, highly regulated industries, financial institutions, or other complex organizations.
• A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to thrive in a lean team environment.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including engagement with senior leadership.
• Relevant professional qualifications such as ICA, GRC, legal, governance, risk, compliance, audit, or related certifications.
• Fluency in English; Arabic language skills would be a strong advantage.

Important Note

This role focuses on Corporate and Regulatory Compliance & Governance rather than solely Financial Crime Compliance, AML, Sanctions, Transaction Monitoring, or MLRO responsibilities. Candidates with broader enterprise compliance leadership experience and proven success in establishing governance and compliance frameworks will be of particular interest.
