Job summary

India Abroad in Doha, Qatar is seeking an experienced Dietitian to join our team and provide expert nutrition guidance. The role requires assessing health status, creating tailored dietary plans, and delivering nutrition counseling for clients seeking weight management or medical/nondietary goals.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of nutrition science and the ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. This position is based onsite in Doha.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition Science or a related field (preferred).
• Knowledge of food science, nutrition principles/guidelines, dietary planning and assessment techniques.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client assessments to assess health status, nutritional needs and develop treatment plans accordingly.
• Monitor patient progress to evaluate the effectiveness of dietary plans.
• Provide nutrition counseling for clients in areas such as weight loss or gain, dietary restrictions related to medical conditions or sports performance improvement.
• Develop meal plans that meet the patient’s nutritional needs and preferences.
• Educate clients on healthful eating habits by providing information on food selection, preparation methods and portion control.
• Create educational materials such as handouts, brochures or newsletters that explain nutritional concepts in easy-to-understand language.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest research on food trends and nutrition topics by attending conferences or reading literature.
• Keep records of patients’ progress and refer them to other healthcare professionals when needed.
