Job summary

REAL WORLD CONSULTANCY is seeking a Demolition Planner and Site Supervisor to lead demolition activities in Qatar. The role focuses on planning, risk assessment, sequencing, and ensuring safe execution of demolition operations on site.

You will coordinate with structural engineers, ensure HSE compliance, manage waste and reporting, and maintain records to support project progress and safety objectives.

Qualifications

• Experience designing demolition method statements, risk assessments, and work programmes.
• Ability to assess structural conditions prior to demolition to identify hazards.
• Familiarity with asbestos management, hazardous materials removal, and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design, prepare and review demolition method statements, risk assessments and work programmes.
• Supervise demolition crews and subcontractors on site per approved plans.
• Enforce HSE procedures, permit-to-work, asbestos management and dust suppression protocols.
• Coordinate with engineers and project team to validate demolition approach.
• Maintain demolition records, reports and site logs, and report incidents to the Project Manager.

Demolition Planning

DesignPrepare and review demolition method statements risk assessments and work programmes Assess structural conditions of buildings and structures prior to demolition to identify hazards Develop phased demolition sequences to minimise risks to adjacent structures and the public Coordinate with structural engineers and the project team to validate the demolition approach

Site Supervision

ExecutionSupervise and direct demolition crews and subcontractors on site to ensure work is carried out perapproved plans Oversee manual mechanical and controlled demolition methods including selective and totaldemolition Ensure correct use of demolition plant and equipment and maintain safe exclusion zones Monitor structural stability during progressive demolition and halt works if safety concerns arise

HSE Compliance

Enforce site HSE procedures including permit-to-work asbestos management and dust suppressionprotocols Liaise with the HSE team to conduct pre-demolition surveys and manage hazardous materials asbestos lead etc Ensure compliance with Qatar Civil Defense regulations and international demolition standards Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings for demolition workforce

Waste

Environmental ManagementManage demolition debris waste segregation and disposal in accordance with environmentalregulations Coordinate recycling and salvage of materials to minimise waste to landfill Maintain records of waste disposal and environmental monitoring as required by the project

Reporting

DocumentationPrepare daily weekly progress reports demolition logs and site records Maintain as-built demolition records and update drawings accordingly Report all incidents near misses and structural concerns to the Project Manager immediately Valid certificates in demolition safety or relevant industry qualifications (e.g. CCDO or equivalent)Familiarity with asbestos management, hazardous material removal, and environmental complianceKnowledge of Qatar Civil Defense and Municipality regulations governing demolition works
