SPIE Global Services Energy in Doha, Qatar seeks a CSCC Mechanical Work Preparator with strong offshore mechanical maintenance experience. You will prepare detailed work packs, review engineering drawings, coordinate shutdowns and permits, and ensure tool and material readiness for safe offshore execution.

The role demands extensive hands-on knowledge of piping, valves, flange management, and mechanical integrity, with 6+ years' experience in the field.

Qualifications

• Diploma/HNC/HND or Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years offshore mechanical maintenance experience.
• Strong experience in valve replacement, piping, and brownfield work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed mechanical work packs for offshore execution.
• Review drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, datasheets, vendor docs.
• Coordinate and validate isolation, spading, shutdown, and PTW.
• Ensure parts, tools, and lifting equipment are available before mobilization.
• Lead shutdown and campaign-driven maintenance preparation.
• Coordinate offshore contractors and vendors during execution.
• Support mechanical integrity initiatives and asset reliability.

We currently have an opportunity within SPIEGlobal Services Energy Doha, Qatar for a

CSCC Mechanical Work Preparator

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for the preparation, coordination, and execution readiness of mechanical maintenance and replacement activities related to the CSCC program on offshore facilities. The role focuses on valve replacement, piping modifications, pressure-containing equipment, static equipment maintenance, flange management, mechanical integrity restoration, and offshore mechanical work execution. The position ensures that all mechanical work scopes are fully planned, technically reviewed, materialized, and ready for safe offshore execution.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Prepare detailed mechanical work packs for offshore execution, including valve replacement, piping spool replacement, mechanical repairs, static equipment maintenance, pressure vessel activities, and brownfield modifications.
Review engineering drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, datasheets, vendor documentation, and maintenance procedures to ensure technical readiness of work scopes.
Coordinate and validate all mechanical isolation requirements, spading plans, equipment shutdown requirements, and permit-to-work documentation.
Ensure availability of valves, piping components, gaskets, bolting, fittings, consumables, special tools, and lifting equipment before offshore mobilization.
Lead preparation activities for shutdown and campaign-driven mechanical maintenance scopes.
Coordinate offshore mechanical contractors and specialist vendors during execution phases.
Support mechanical integrity initiatives through replacement of deteriorated piping systems, valves, supports, and pressure-retaining components.
Ensure compliance with company standards for flange management, bolting integrity, pressure testing, hydrotesting, leak testing, and mechanical completion.
Monitor execution progress and resolve technical issues related to equipment dismantling, installation, alignment, bolt tensioning, and commissioning activities.
Support risk reduction activities associated with ageing offshore assets and mechanical equipment reliability.

Profile

Diploma, HNC/HND, or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 10 years of experience in offshore oil and gas mechanical maintenance and execution.Strong experience in:

• Valve replacement campaigns.
• Static equipment maintenance.
• Piping modifications.
• Brownfield mechanical projects.
• Shutdown and turnaround activities.
• Mechanical work preparation.

Hands-on knowledge of:

• Piping systems.
• Mechanical joint integrity.
• Flange management.
• Pressure testing.
• Rotating and static equipment maintenance.
• Strong SAP PM experience.
• Experience in offshore production facilities and ageing asset environments.
• Familiarity with API, ASME, ISO and offshore industry standards

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Extensive experience managing valve replacement programs offshore.
Experience with:
Mechanical completion systems.
Commissioning support.
Temporary repairs and permanent modifications.
Offshore shutdown campaigns.
Corrosion mitigation and piping renewal projects.
Knowledge of CSCC remediation activities is advantageous.

You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as, a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office
