Job summary

Brunel is seeking a Construction Specialist to lead lifting and scaffolding activities for large oil and gas projects. You will ensure safety protocols, supervise Contractors and subcontractors, and coordinate with the Engineering Team to deliver on schedule and budget.

Your role requires a Bachelor’s in Science or Engineering and about 8 years of experience in heavy construction, with offshore/onshore facilities knowledge and compliance with major design standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Sciences or Engineering is required.
• 8 years total experience with large projects in construction related to lifting & scaffolding in Oil & Gas.
• Experience with oil & gas companies, contractors, or heavy construction.
• Knowledge of design standards, codes and safety criteria for major fabrication and installation.

Responsibilities

• Manage lifting and scaffolding activities from prep to completion.
• Ensure safety protocols and regulations are followed during fabrication.
• Supervise Contractor/Subcontractors to meet contractual requirements and project documents.
• Review deviations to LNG construction standards and maintain consistent dossiers.
• Identify progress/quality concerns and recommend corrective actions.
• Liaise with Contractors/Subcontractors on lifting & scaffolding matters and progress reporting.
• Participate in risk assessments, pre-job meetings and lessons learned.

• Reporting to Head of Construction, the Construction Specialist is responsible for managing the lifting and scaffolding activities, including protection of all project materials from preparation stage to ensure objectives are safely met within the approved scope, budget and schedule.

• Ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and regulations during fabrication process.
• Manages and ensures successful execution of Topsides project lifting & Scaffolding works to meet prioritized objectives (Safety, Quality, Schedule, and others, as appropriate).
• To supervise and control the activities of the Contractor/Subcontractors related to the lifting & Scaffolding, to ensure that it complies with contractual requirements, project documentation and applicable International Standards.
• To assess the constructability aspects, as well as the compliance with all technical requirements, of the deliverables provided by the Engineering Team Contractor.
• To review deviations to LNG construction standards for comments with Contractors / Subcontractors input, to deliver a consistent dossier (documents, materials, procured and fabricated items, precom/com dossiers, as built …) for the construction activities.
• Identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and/or quality and recommend corrective actions as required.
• Review Contractor's progress reports and reports for all the activities, highlighting critical problems, drifts and dysfunctions if any.
• To Liaise with Contractors/Subcontractors for all lifting & scaffolding subject, to ensure the Contractors/Subcontractors progress follow up and reporting.
• To Participate in Risk Assessments, kick off meetings and Pre-Job Meetings, technical meeting etc. as required in accordance with Company's referential.
• To participate in REX and Lessons Learned for the Company.

• Bachelors Degree in Sciences or Engineering
• 8 years overall experience with Large Projects in Construction related to lifting & scaffolding in the Oil & Gas Industry, including strong experience in a specialist role, including acting roles, or oversight of service/vendor personnel. Additional relevant work experience may be substituted for technical education.
• Experience with Oil and Gas companies, contractors, service companies, or heavy construction companies.
• Knowledge of design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria related to major fabrication, transport, installation, brownfield execution, and hook-up, as applicable to the project scope.
• Knowledge of offshore facilities and structures, onshore facilities, or yard operations as applicable to a project scope.
• Knowledge of execution methods and risks associated with sour gas and LNG production facilities.
• Experience working in large scale operating organizations in Operations, Projects, Subsurface, etc.

• Salary:
  • Day Rate in USD Plus Allowance
