Milaha is looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to support ongoing shipyard infrastructure upgrades, facility enhancement projects, marine civil works, and CAPEX initiatives.
The role will be responsible for supporting project execution through contractor coordination, technical review, site supervision, progress monitoring, and ensuring that civil works are delivered in line with approved quality, safety, budget, and schedule requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of shipyard infrastructure and facility upgrade projects in line with approved scope, schedule, and budget.
- Review civil drawings, specifications, BOQs, technical submissions, method statements, and contractor proposals.
- Conduct regular site inspections and monitor construction activities, contractor performance, progress, and resource utilization.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve technical and project-related issues.
- Provide civil engineering support for floating dock facilities, workshops, roads, drainage systems, utility networks, hardstands, marine infrastructure, and operational facilities.
- Coordinate civil works related to floating dry docks, ship lifts, and berth facilities.
- Support project cost control, including budget monitoring, contractor progress claims, cost tracking, and identification of potential delays or cost overruns.
- Ensure works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and HSSEQ requirements.
- Support tender reviews, technical evaluations, contractor assessments, scope development, and technical clarifications.
- Monitor site surveys, testing, and geotechnical investigations.
- Monitor concrete and asphalt works, pathways, operational areas, drainage, water supply, utilities, and fire protection systems.
- Maintain project documentation, including progress reports, meeting minutes, action logs, inspection records, risk registers, and close-out documentation.
- Identify project risks, technical challenges, and execution constraints and support appropriate mitigation actions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in civil engineering, construction supervision, and/or infrastructure project execution.
- Experience with concrete and steel structures, industrial buildings, workshops, warehouses, office construction, and fit-out projects is highly desirable.
- Strong experience in contractor coordination and site supervision.
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
- Qatar experience is preferred.
- MMUP/UPDA certification is preferred.
- PMP certification would be an advantage.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; MS Project experience is an advantage.
- Strong communication, stakeholder coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prepare technical reports and project progress updates.
