Job summary

ABYAT in Qatar is seeking a dedicated Cash Accountant to handle daily cash reconciliation, deposits, and related ERP entries within a fast-paced retail environment.

You will coordinate with cashiers and finance teams, ensure accuracy in cash reporting, and support month-end closings. SAP experience is mandatory; a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a high transaction-volume environment.
• Exposure to retail, FMCG, manufacturing, logistics, or similar.
• Comfortable handling a large volume of invoices and follow-ups.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile daily cash, POS/card, and bank collections against sales.
• Monitor cash deposits and ensure timely bank deposits.
• Reconcile bank accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Record cash receipts, deposits, transfers, and related accounting entries.
• Monitor cash balances and prepare daily/weekly cash reports.
• Reconcile store/showroom collections with ERP records.
• Coordinate with cashiers, store operations, banks, and Finance.
• Support month-end closing and cash-related GL reconciliations.
• Maintain proper documentation and internal controls over cash transactions.

As a Cash Accountant, you will be responsible for daily cash and payment reconciliation, rather than the broader responsibilities of a General Accountant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reconciling daily cash, POS/card, and bank collections against sales.
• Monitoring cash deposits and ensuring timely bank deposits.
• Reconciling bank accounts and investigating discrepancies.
• Recording cash receipts, deposits, transfers, and related accounting entries.
• Monitoring cash balances and preparing daily/weekly cash reports.
• Reconciling store/showroom collections with ERP records.
• Coordinating with cashiers, store operations, banks, and Finance.
• Supporting month-end closing and cash-related GL reconciliations.
• Maintaining proper documentation and internal controls over cash transactions.

Qualifications:

• Experience in high transaction-volume environment.
• Exposure to retail, FMCG, manufacturing, logistics, or similar.
• Comfortable handling large volume of invoices and follow-ups.
• 2–3 years of experience in accounting and cash management.
• Strong SAP experience (mandatory).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
