Job summary

NTU International A/S seeks a Senior Expert to lead early detection and cancer prevention initiatives for an EU-funded project with the Syrian Ministry of Health. The expert will design evidence-based screening, referral pathways and workforce training to strengthen governance and capacity.

Role requires translating epidemiology into operational programs, developing community awareness, and coordinating across MoH directorates and health networks in challenging contexts.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in public health or related field.
• Medical degree with clinical or public-health specialization in Oncology or Family Medicine is acceptable.
• 7+ years of experience in NCD prevention and cancer screening programmes.
• Experience with multi-stakeholder facilitation spanning MoH, PHC networks and professional societies.

Responsibilities

• Design or revise evidence-based national cancer screening guidelines and clinical pathways in line with WHO and IARC recommendations.
• Develop community awareness and risk-communication strategies to improve early care-seeking in diverse settings.
• Design training curricula and capacity-building packages for health workers on breast examination, screening methods and referral triage.
• Pilot cancer screening programmes and establish referral linkages between primary care and diagnostic facilities.
• Experience in post-conflict or fragile health systems is a strong asset.
