Job summary

Qatar Insurance Company Q.S.P.C (QIC, QIC Group) seeks an experienced finance professional to oversee daily accounting, month-end closes, and comprehensive financial reporting. The role emphasizes IFRS compliance, accuracy, and strong analytical skills in a bilingual environment.

You will manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and working capital, while coordinating with departments and auditors. A senior candidate with 5–10 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Qualified finance professional with IFRS knowledge and integrity.
• Fluent in Arabic and English preferred; bilingual communication is key.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and variance analysis skills.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting activities including journals, accruals, provisions, and reconciliations.
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Review general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and performance reports.
• Analyze actuals vs budget/forecast and explain key variances.
• Provide insights on revenue, costs, profitability, working capital, and cash flow.
• Monitor KPIs and support performance evaluation.
• Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting.
• Coordinate with departments on assumptions and inputs.
• Track budget performance and highlight variances.
• Monitor receivables and payables for accuracy and aging control.
• Support collections and supplier payment processes.
• Coordinate with banking functions for smooth payment processing.
• Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls.
• Ensure compliance with policies, authority limits, and accounting standards.
• Identify control gaps and support corrective actions.
• Support audit issue resolution and segregation of duties.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors.
• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Respond to audit queries and support issue closure.
• Assist in statutory financial statements and regulatory reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and automation.
• Support ERP and finance system enhancements.
• Improve reporting, reconciliation, and data validation processes.
• Maintain updated process documentation.
