Job summary

QatarEnergy LNG is seeking an experienced IT professional to support and optimize business applications across the oil and gas IT landscape. You will resolve day-to-day issues, coordinate with stakeholders, and contribute to project work from design through testing and deployment.

The role requires 7+ years in IT, experience with industry tools (Aveva AIM/ISM, SPFs, Documentum D2), and strong analytical and security-focused skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, computer engineering, or information systems.
• 7 years IT experience.
• Experience with Information Management applications in Oil & Gas (Aveva AIM/ISM/Tag Management/Octave/SPF/S3D/Documentum D2).
• Experience in developing, customizing, and integrating business applications.
• IT applications development/implementation projects experience.
• IT applications risk, security, and continuity management.
• ITIL knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Investigate operational issues and provide effective IT support solutions.
• Respond to support requests by configuring systems, applying workarounds, or escalating to developers/suppliers.
• Monitor progress and keep stakeholders informed to minimize delays.
• Create logical software designs showing processes, data flows, inputs/outputs.
• Handle operations, administration, and maintenance of business applications and related tools.
• Develop, interpret, and execute test plans to verify correct operation of software.
• Define and execute small-scale projects, actively participating in all phases and managing risks.
• Participate in meetings with stakeholders and present issues and solutions.
• Ensure compliance with information security policies and required standards.

Job description

• Support business functions and provide detailed IT technical expertise to maintain applications support environment and resolve day to day issues.
• Broad range of complex technical and/or professional work activities and timely and efficient completion of complex, non-routine work.
• Timely resolution of any issues and ensuring operational and project KPIs are met.

Key Job Accountabilities

• Investigate operational issues, problems, and requests for support, in coordination with colleagues and other stakeholders, seeking effective solutions and takes appropriate action for resolution.
• Respond to requests for support by means of modifications to system parameters, workarounds, reconfiguring systems, training users, or escalating to systems development staff or software suppliers.
• Monitor progress of requests for support and ensures users and other stakeholders are kept informed. Take corrective action to avoid or minimize delays.
• Produce logical software designs showing for example: processes, objects, data flows, inputs, stored data, and outputs.
• Perform tasks associated with operations, administration and maintenance tasks for Business Applications, Database Management Systems, and related Tools & Technologies.
• Develop, interpret, and execute test plans to verify correct operation of completed software.
• Define, document, and execute small-scale projects (or sub-projects) actively participating in all phases of the project. Identify, assess, and manage risks and issues which might impact on the success of the project.
• Participate in meetings with stakeholders and assists in presenting issues and solutions.
• Ensure compliance with information security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Ensure all work is carried out and documented in accordance with required standards, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any computer science, information technology, computer engineering, or information systems discipline.

Knowledge and/or Experience

• 7 years’ IT experience.
• Prior working experience in Information Management applications (Aveva AIM/ISM/Tag Management Solution, Octave SmartPlant Applications (SPF/S3D), Documentum D2 or similar applications used in the Oil & Gas industry).
• Demonstrated experience in developing, customizing, and integrating business applications.
• Demonstrated experience in managing IT applications development/implementation projects.
• Demonstrated experience in IT applications support environment - ITIL knowledge.
• Demonstrated experience in IT applications’ risk, security, and continuity management.

Technical and Business Skills

• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong business analysis and system design skills.
• Good Understanding of Applications and Data Security.
