Job summary

QatarEnergy is seeking an experienced IT Applications Specialist to support and enhance information management systems across oil and gas operations.

You will diagnose issues, implement changes, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure ITIL-aligned service delivery while maintaining security and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 7 years IT experience in information management applications.
• Experience with Aveva AIM/ISM, SPF/S3D or Documentum D2.
• ITIL knowledge and risk/security management experience.

Responsibilities

• Investigate operational issues and coordinate with stakeholders for resolution.
• Respond to support requests by adjusting system parameters or training users.
• Monitor progress of requests and keep stakeholders informed.
• Develop logical software designs showing processes, data flows, inputs and outputs.

Job description

• Support business functions and provide detailed IT technical expertise to maintain applications support environment and resolve day to day issues.
• Broad range of complex technical and/or professional work activities and timely and efficient completion of complex, non-routine work.
• Timely resolution of any issues and ensuring operational and project KPIs are met.

Key Job Accountabilities

• Investigate operational issues, problems, and requests for support, in coordination with colleagues and other stakeholders, seeking effective solutions and takes appropriate action for resolution.
• Respond to requests for support by means of modifications to system parameters, workarounds, reconfiguring systems, training users, or escalating to systems development staff or software suppliers.
• Monitor progress of requests for support and ensures users and other stakeholders are kept informed. Take corrective action to avoid or minimize delays.
• Produce logical software designs showing for example: processes, objects, data flows, inputs, stored data, and outputs.
• Perform tasks associated with operations, administration and maintenance tasks for Business Applications, Database Management Systems, and related Tools & Technologies.
• Develop, interpret, and execute test plans to verify correct operation of completed software.
• Define, document, and execute small-scale projects (or sub-projects) actively participating in all phases of the project. Identify, assess, and manage risks and issues which might impact on the success of the project.
• Participate in meetings with stakeholders and assists in presenting issues and solutions.
• Ensure compliance with information security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Ensure all work is carried out and documented in accordance with required standards, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any computer science, information technology, computer engineering, or information systems discipline.

Knowledge and/or Experience

• 7 years’ IT experience.
• Prior working experience in Information Management applications (Aveva AIM/ISM/Tag Management Solution, Octave SmartPlant Applications (SPF/S3D), Documentum D2 or similar applications used in the Oil & Gas industry).
• Demonstrated experience in developing, customizing, and integrating business applications.
• Demonstrated experience in managing IT applications development/implementation projects.
• Demonstrated experience in IT applications support environment - ITIL knowledge.
• Demonstrated experience in IT applications’ risk, security, and continuity management.

Technical and Business Skills

• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong business analysis and system design skills.
• Good Understanding of Applications and Data Security.
