Job summary

Minor Hotels’ Banana Island Resort Doha By Anantara is seeking a Pool Attendant to ensure top-tier safety, hygiene and service across the pool and related facilities. You will follow procedures, monitor chemical levels, assist swimmers, and support maintenance tasks as part of daily operations.

The ideal candidate has 1-2 years in a luxury hotel or resort role, strong communication, physical fitness, and the ability to lead group activities when needed; willing to work in a dynamic hospitality

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar position with a luxury hotel/resort.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long periods, swim (if needed), or perform light athletic activities.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all operational procedures, checklists and work instructions are carried out to a high standard.
  • Prepare facilities for use and maintain cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Assist swimmers and supervise pool area, providing lifesaving first aid as needed.
  • Monitor chemical levels of pool water and report deviations.
  • Attend training and perform maintenance duties in the Plant Room and related areas.
  • Provide professional customer service and maintain safety of patrons at all times.

Key responsibilities
  • To ensure all operational procedures, checklists and work instructions are carried out to a high standard.
  • To ensure the day to day preparation of facilities (equipment and/or areas of use).
  • To undertake within the operational demands of the pool, any tasks required from cleaning, reception and administration.
  • To undertake the opening and closing of the Centre in accordance with published hours and ensure the facilities are provided for the public in accordance with Health and Safety regulations.
  • To ensure a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene at all times throughout the shift.
  • To supervise the pool area, assist swimmers in difficulty, undertake any necessary lifesaving first aid as needed.
  • To ensure that recorded checks on chemical levels of the pool water are carried out and report to the Duty Manager/Maintenance Engineer should it fail to meet the required standard.
  • To undertake routine checks and maintenance in the Plant Room including backwash of filters.
  • To attend any training as deemed appropriate by the Manager.
  • Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency.
  • Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
  • Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service.
  • Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
  • Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications - Additional information
  • 1-2 Years of experience in a similar position with a Luxury Hotel/resort
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long periods, swim (if needed), or perform light athletic activities.
  • Ability to lead group activities such as games, fitness sessions, or arts and crafts.
