Job summary

Tanqeeb in Qatar seeks an AFR Pricing Specialist to execute pricing strategy, handle RFQs, and monitor tariffs. The role involves dashboards, database maintenance, and cross-functional collaboration with airline partners and logistics teams.

You will lead pricing initiatives, support tender development, and contribute to performance reviews while mentoring newer colleagues in pricing best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in pricing, RFQ handling and cost optimization.

Responsibilities

• Execute plans and processes to implement AFR Pricing Strategy.
• Respond to pricing enquiries efficiently and competitively.
• Monitor and update local tariffs accurately and timely.
• Develop RFQs, provide guidance, and lead launch calls for critical RFQs.
• Prepare shipment documentation for freight forwarding and assist tenders.
• Maintain databases for rapid network query responses.
• Build strong customer and airline relationships and participate in negotiations.
• Prepare carrier performance reports and conduct reviews.
• Identify opportunities to improve services and pricing efficiency.
• Stay updated on new solutions, services, trade lanes, and traffic developments.
• Provide guidance to junior team members and resolve daily operational issues.

Key Tasks

• Execute plans and processes to implement the AFR Pricing Strategy.
• Respond to pricing enquiries in an efficient and competitive manner.
• Ensure the timely monitoring and accurate updating of local tariffs.
• Ensure RFQ development, particularly for high-priority RFQs. Provide detailed guidance and conduct launch calls for critical RFQs.
• Deliver day-to-day shipment documentation for freight forwarding, assist in the development of tenders, and ensure timely submission of all relevant documents.
• Develop and maintain databases with specific information to enable quick responses to network queries.
• Build and maintain strong business relationships with customers and airlines, and participate in commercial negotiations.
• Prepare carrier performance reports and conduct performance reviews.
• Identify opportunities to enhance services and processes, securing cost-effective and competitive pricing. Negotiate competitive rates with airline suppliers while meeting service specifications and transit time targets.
• Stay informed about recent developments in new solutions, services, trade lanes, and traffic developments.
• Provide support, guidance, and direction to less experienced or new team members.
• Analyze and resolve day-to-day operational issues and implement best practices for AFR pricing to improve effectiveness and efficiency.

Management Responsibility

• Individual contributor who may manage up to two employees.
• May direct the work of lower-level professionals or manage processes and programs.
• Coach, support, and review the work of lower-level professionals.

Qualifications & Key Requirements Education

• Bachelor\'s Degree or equivalent qualification and/or relevant professional experience.
