Job summary

Confidential is seeking an experienced Accountant with strong General Ledger expertise to join the Group Finance team in Qatar. The candidate will manage GL operations, financial reporting, project accounting, intercompany transactions, and month end close across multiple group entities.

Ideal applicants will have IFRS knowledge, ERP system experience, and a track record supporting large-scale construction or real estate projects. ACCA/CPA/CA qualifications are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in General Ledger Accounting.
• Experience in Real Estate, Construction, Property Development, or Contracting industries.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily General Ledger activities including journal entries and account analysis.
• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and year end closings in compliance with IFRS.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and account schedules.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accountant with strong General Ledger (GL) expertise to join our Group Finance team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in Real Estate, Construction, Property Development, or Contracting companies and will be responsible for managing General Ledger operations, financial reporting, project accounting, intercompany transactions, and month end closing activities across multiple group entities.

The successful candidate should have strong knowledge of IFRS, financial controls, ERP systems, and experience supporting large-scale construction or real estate projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily General Ledger activities, including journal entries, account analysis, and financial transactions.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year end financial closing activities in compliance with IFRS.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and account schedules.
• Manage intercompany accounting, reconciliations, confirmations, and settlements between group companies.
• Maintain accurate accounting records for construction projects, real estate developments, and operational entities.
• Support project accounting activities, including project cost allocation, construction expenses, and work-in-progress (WIP) accounting.
• Monitor project-related costs, accruals, provisions, and revenue recognition.
• Maintain fixed assets registers, depreciation schedules, prepaid expenses, and accrual accounts.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, variance analysis, and audit schedules.
• Support internal and external audits by providing accurate financial information and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal financial controls.
• Work closely with project teams, procurement, contracts, and business units to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in General Ledger Accounting.
• Proven experience within Real Estate, Construction, Property Development, or Contracting companies.
• Strong hands-on experience in project accounting, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
• Experience managing intercompany transactions within a group of companies.
• Strong understanding of IFRS, month end closing, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong analytical and reporting abilities.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, or CA is an advantage.
