Job summary

Qatar Foundation in Qatar is seeking an experienced accounting professional to manage General Ledger functions, post journal entries, and ensure accurate ERP postings. The role emphasizes timely reconciliations and robust financial reporting.

You will maintain chart of accounts integrity, prepare variance analyses, and support internal auditing. A degree in accounting and a professional qualification are preferred, with 3–5 years' experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACMA, CPA, etc.) is an added advantage.
• 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare general ledger entries and post from sub-modules through the ERP system.
• Perform monthly reconciliations and resolve issues with the Financial Statutory Reporting Manager.
• Ensure chart of accounts, recording processes, and reporting structure are accurate.
• Prepare management reports and variance analyses on expenditures.
• Conduct auditing functions and prepare required financial or statistical reports.
• Check data flow from the sub-ledger on an ongoing basis.
• Handle other duties assigned by the Financial Statutory Reporting Manager.

Job description

Key Result Areas:

• Perform all necessary General Ledger accounting functions, including the preparation of journal entries and the posting of entries from sub-modules through the ERP system.
• Perform monthly reconciliations in a timely manner for review by the Financial Statutory Reporting Manager and resolve any issues in consultation with the manager.
• Ensure that the chart of accounts, recording processes, and reporting structure are accurate and comprehensive.
• Prepare comparative accounting and financial reports as required by Management and conduct periodic reviews; prepare regular reports on identified expenditure variances.
• Perform auditing functions and prepare the required financial or statistical reports.
• Conduct continuous checks on data flow from the sub-ledger.
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Financial Statutory Reporting Manager.
