We are hiring a VoIP Engineer who will be responsible for leading VoIP platform development, integrating with regional telecom providers, and ensuring high availability of mission‑critical voice services. This role requires hands‑on technical mastery, regulatory awareness, and strong vendor management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- VoIP Architecture & Operations: Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise‑grade VoIP systems (Genesys Cloud CX1 – BYOC Cloud/Edge, Asterisk, ZIWO, GSM gateways such as Dinstar/Yeastar/UC2000).
- Carrier Integration: Manage interconnections with regional telecom operators (Etisalat, du, STC, others), covering testing, deployment, and troubleshooting complex scenarios.
- Protocol Mastery: Deep SIP/RTP/SRTP work – advanced SIP header tuning (From, Contact, Diversion, P‑Asserted‑Identity), NAT traversal, SDP analysis, early media, re‑INVITEs, and timeout handling.
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Act as L3 escalation point; analyze packet captures (Wireshark/tshark) to resolve one‑way audio, packet loss, jitter, and media quality issues.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop utilities and scripts (Bash/Python) for monitoring, CDR exports, log handling, and process automation.
- High Availability & DR: Design clustering, trunk redundancy, and disaster recovery for voice infrastructure.
- Vendor & Regulator Interaction: Open and drive vendor support cases, negotiate with carriers, and work with regulators (TRA UAE, CITC KSA) to meet compliance requirements.
- Data Center Work: Perform safe physical interventions (installing, switching, replacing modules/servers) and plan preventive maintenance.
- Service Ownership: Participate in on‑call rotations, taking ownership of VoIP services and providing critical support during incidents, including outside business hours if required.
- Documentation & Projects: Produce detailed technical documentation and manage multiple parallel projects with proper prioritization and reporting.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- 3+ years managing large‑scale VoIP infrastructures for enterprises or carriers.
- Deep knowledge of SIP/RTP/SRTP protocols, SIP timers, session refresh, topology hiding, and NAT traversal.
- VoIP‑related Linux administration skills: system monitoring, tcpdump/pcap analysis, QoS, firewalls (iptables/nftables), and SIP DoS protection.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot using pcap dumps and SIP/media analysis.
- Solid understanding of regional telecom regulations and ability to align solutions with compliance.
- Strong experience writing and maintaining technical documentation and procedures.
- Familiarity with WebRTC.
- Experience migrating large contact centers to cloud or hybrid deployments.
- Expertise with SBC Audiocodes: advanced routing, manipulation rules, HA clustering, TLS/SRTP termination, interworking.
- Genesys Cloud certification.
- A technical leader who can own and evolve VoIP services in Saudi Arabia.
