The Champalimaud Foundation in Lisbon invites applications for a First Stage Researcher (R1) fellowship in Biological Sciences. The role involves rodent care, data maintenance, room and equipment sterilization, and ensuring high standards of animal welfare.

English proficiency is required, and applicants should be organized, self-motivated and team-oriented. The fellowship lasts 6 months with potential renewal, starts 01/10/2026, and is a 40-hour full-time position in Portugal.

Qualificações

• Having a personal animal experimentation license and prior experience in a rodent facility/research environment is preferable.
• Proven experience in similar tasks will be valued.

Responsabilidades

• Rodent care and husbandry routine procedures (cage changing, breedings, weanings) after training.
• Maintenance of databases of routines, procedures and animal usage.
• Maintain inventories of consumables and equipment.
• Clean, organize and sanitize CF-Vivarium rooms and equipment.
• Care for maintenance and proper function of equipment, rooms, products and materials.
• Wash and sterilize cages, water bottles and rodent-related materials.
• Perform other tasks to uphold high scientific and animal welfare standards.
