Fischer Connectors in Amarante, near Porto, Portugal, is seeking a Tool Designer to develop and maintain production tools for cost- and reliability-driven projects. You will design tools from concept to qualified production, support R&D tool development, and push continuous improvement across tooling processes.

Requirements include 3–5 years in manufacturing, a Mechanical Engineering degree, CREO and SAP proficiency, and fluency in English and Portuguese. French is a plus.

Qualificações

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical design tools, especially CREO and SAP.
  • Experience with injection molding is a plus.
  • Technical training as a Technicien ES in Microtechnology or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese; French is a strong advantage.
  • Collaborative, proactive, well-organized and independent.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic setting.

Responsabilidades

For our Plant in Amarante, near Oporto, Portugal, we are looking for an Tool Designer.

MISSION

  • Developing tools as part of product or process projects, taking into account a working methodology based on the cost and reliability of the tools;
  • Providing support for tool maintenance and participating in the continuous improvement of production tools.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Autonomously developing tools (defining the need, defining and evaluating the concept, 3D design, assembly and detail design, assembly, participation in prototyping), through to qualified production, respecting the department’s work instructions in order to guarantee the expected performance of the process.
  • Participating in the development of tools according to the R&D department’s new project.
  • Ensuring continuous improvement and maintenance of tools in production.
  • Improving the instructions and tools associated with the tool development workflow.
  • Supporting subsidiaries on the tooling axis and ensuring standardization of design and associated processes.

The Experience And Skills You Will Bring

  • Proven professional experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment (3 – 5 years;
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field;
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical design tools, particularly CREO and SAP;
  • Strong foundation in mechanics – experience with injection molding is a valuable plus;
  • Technical training as a Technicien ES in Microtechnology or an equivalent qualification;
  • Fluent in both English and Portuguese (mandatory); knowledge of French is a strong advantage;
  • A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to contribute constructively within a small team environment;
  • Well-organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently;
  • Open-minded, with a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic setting.
