Jobtailor is seeking a Biomass Operations Engineer in Lisbon to monitor and optimize day-to-day plant performance, ensuring reliability, efficiency and safety across multiple biomass facilities.

You will lead improvement initiatives, coordinate technical projects and provide guidance across operations teams, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and traveling across production sites in Portugal as required.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and relevant technical background.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in technical design, project development, or operations management.
• Proven ability to analyze operational performance and implement corrective actions.
• Solid understanding of industrial operations and maintenance practices.
• Experience in biomass, energy, or industrial environments is an advantage.
• Experience coordinating technical projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Analytical, data-driven decision making.
• High accountability, organisation and attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel across production sites in Portugal.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor and support day-to-day technical and operational performance of biomass plants.
• Lead initiatives to improve plant performance, efficiency, reliability and safety.
• Provide technical oversight across the asset lifecycle (design to operations and maintenance).
• Develop and improve operational procedures, policies and best practices.
• Analyse data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities; implement corrective actions.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support asset integrity and environmental compliance via maintenance strategies.

• Monitor and support the day-to-day technical and operational performance of biomass plants, ensuring optimal availability, reliability, efficiency and throughput
• Lead initiatives to improve operational performance, plant efficiency, equipment reliability and health and safety standards
• Provide technical oversight throughout the full asset lifecycle, including design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance
• Develop, implement and continuously improve operational procedures, policies and best practices
• Analyse operational and performance data, identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions
• Coordinate technical projects and operational improvement initiatives in line with business objectives, budget and timelines
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to troubleshoot technical issues, optimise plant performance and ensure regulatory compliance
• Support asset integrity, environmental compliance and long-term value creation through operational and maintenance strategies
• Provide technical guidance, coaching and knowledge sharing across operational teams
• Conduct regular visits to biomass facilities and provide on-site operational support

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Technical Design, Project Development, Operations Management, Product Innovation or other relevant technical fields
• Proven ability to analyse operational performance, identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions
• Solid understanding of industrial operations, power generation assets and maintenance practices
• Experience within biomass, energy or other industrial environments is considered an advantage
• Experience in coordinating technical projects and multidisciplinary teams within operational environments
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical, operational and corporate teams
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
• High level of accountability, organisation and attention to detail
• Availability to travel frequently across production sites in Portugal
