Job summary

The Exo Group em Portugal procura um(a) System/Network Engineer para integrar a equipa de Porto com possibilidade de trabalho remoto total. Será responsável pela instalação, manutenção e monitorização da infraestrutural de servidor, redes, bases de dados e aplicação com foco em desempenho e disponibilidade.

Procuramos profissionais com forte experiência em Linux, Nginx, MariaDB e Puppet, com conhecimento em caching, segurança e metodologias ágeis.

Qualifications

• Experiência extensa em Linux (preferivelmente RedHat) e OSS.
• Conhecimento avançado de servidores web com PHP.
• Experiência com administração de MariaDB.
• Conceitos de gestão de configuração (Puppet).
• Experiência com caching (Redis, Memcached, Couchbase).
• Experiência com SCRUM e ferramentas (JIRA, Confluence).
• Boas habilidades de comunicação escrita e verbal.
• BS/MS em Ciência da Computação ou equivalente.

Responsibilities

• Instalação, suporte e manutenção da infraestrutura de servidor e software.
• Gestão de sistemas de bases de dados (MariaDB) e servidores web (Nginx).
• Monitorizar uso de servidor e rede e otimizar recursos.
• Planejar e implementar futuras implantações e manter disponibilidade 24/7.
• Contribuir para melhoria de processos e uso de melhores práticas.
• Participar ativamente na partilha de conhecimento da equipa.

We are revolutionising the online ad-serving industry for advertisers, publishers and networks alike and are seeking to recruit highly skilled and talented System and Network Engineers to join our growing team in Porto to help install, maintain and support the server and network infrastructure powering the company’s ad-serving platform.

The ideal candidate will work closely with the application developers to provide maximum performance and availability across all servers, services and networks ranging across many exciting projects.

Location

Even though you are welcome to work from our office in Porto, this position can be fulfilled from anywhere in Portugal.

Your Responsibilities:

• Installation, support and maintenance of the server hardware and software infrastructure
• Management of database systems (MariaDB & ClickHouse) and web servers (Nginx)
• Monitoring server and network usage
• Ensuring the most cost-effective and efficient use of resources
• Planning and implementing future deployments
• Some 24/7 availability for critical infrastructure situations
• Contribute to team process improvement adhering to industry best practice and principles
• Participate in team knowledge sharing activities

You have:

• Extensive Linux experience (preferably RedHat) with an appreciation for OSS
• Advanced knowledge of web servers with PHP
• Experience with MariaDB administration
• Configuration management notions (i.e. Puppet)
• Experience with caching (Redis, Memcached, CouchBase)
• Exposure to Agile methodologies (SCRUM) and related management tools (JIRA, Confluence)
• Excellent written, spoken and interpersonal communication skills
• BS / MS in Computer Science / related technical discipline OR equivalent experience.
