Porto Technical Centre, part of Yazaki, is seeking a Systems Design Engineer to develop and maintain low voltage wiring harness designs and electrical schematics for OEM requirements. You will interact with customers, CSC and manufacturing plants to ensure quality and timely delivery.
Responsibilities include design reviews, documentation, and managing changes across the lifecycle, with opportunities to travel as needed.

We are currently seeking high potential candidates to join us through Systems Design Engineering team, reporting directly to the area supervisor.
Position Mission: Responsible for the development and maintenance of low voltage systems (wire harness circuits), creating electrical schematics according to customer requirements and managing product changes throughout the engineering lifecycle, while interacting with multiple stakeholders to ensure quality and compliance.
Develop and maintain low voltage systems designs (wire harness circuits).
Create and validate electrical schematics in accordance with customer (OEM) requirements and specifications.
Analyse engineering specifications and manage product changes throughout the project lifecycle.
Perform design reviews and technical assessments to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation for product definition.
Act as a technical interface with customers (OEMs) for systems designs definition.
Interact and collaborate with various stakeholders including customers (OEMs), CSC and manufacturing plants.
Ensure effective information sharing among department members and cross-functional teams.
Promote improvement activities related to engineering product development and definition.
Perform administrative tasks to control the complete engineering process and workflow.
Monitor and report project progress, risks and issues, escalating where necessary.
Ensure adherence to agreed deadlines with customers and internal stakeholders.
Requirements:
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electromechanical.
Solid knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel (advanced level).
Good knowledge of 2D Design Tools (e.g. AutoCAD or equivalent).
Knowledge of quality tools: FMEA, PDCA and 8D methodology.
Understanding of automotive engineering standards and product change management processes.
Advanced English (spoken and written) and/or German.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer and stakeholder interaction.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Dynamism, resilience and self‑discipline.
Strong time‑management and team‑working skills.
Availability to travel if required.
