DataHow AG is a spin-off company of ETH Zurich founded in 2017. Our mission is to bring Industry 4.0 to the chemical, pharmaceutical, and biopharmaceutical sectors. We develop and commercialise predictive software that integrates sensor signals, process models, machine learning, reinforcement learning, historical data, and process engineering knowledge. About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Bachelor's or Master's student to join our team in Lisbon for a paid summer internship. The role is a full-time position with a duration of 6 to 12 weeks, with the possibility of extension depending on project needs and mutual interest. You will work closely with our process modeling team on real-world challenges, with tasks tailored to your interests and background. Responsibilities may include:

• Working on real industry problems and supporting other team members on their tasks
• Understanding of existing code and use cases and supporting their improvement
• Building and structuring a clean code repository with reusable scripts for consistent application to real client data
• Contributing to the development of practical use cases to support user onboarding and training on our software platform
• Reviewing and improving the codes and teaching content of a machine learning course delivered several times per year to universities and leading pharmaceutical companies
• Running data validation analyses to assess the impact of different factors on model training and predictive accuracy

This role is a good fit for you if

• You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's programme in Data Science, Computer Science, Bioengineering, or a related field
• You have solid programming skills, preferably in Python
• You are interested in good coding and documentation practices
• You are curious about machine learning and data-driven applications in the life sciences
• You are proactive, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a collaborative environment
• You communicate clearly in English
