Cloud Engineer

Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership & Strategy:
- Define cloud architecture blueprints and ensure consistency across teams and projects
- Align infrastructure strategy with business priorities
- Lead design reviews and advise on cost‑performance‑reliability trade‑offs
- Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and propose adoption strategies
 
- Infrastructure as Code & Automation:
- Set standards for IaC (Terraform, Bicep) and GitOps workflows
- Drive adoption of automated, idempotent infrastructure practices
- Develop reusable modules and templates for provisioning
 
- Platform Reliability & Observability:
- Define SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets
- Promote observability (monitoring, logging, tracing) best practices
- Reduce downtime and manual toil through automation
 
- Security & Compliance:
- Integrate security and compliance into infrastructure by default
- Collaborate with InfoSec to maintain cloud security standards
 
- Cost & Performance Optimization:
- Define FinOps best practices and monitor cloud spend
- Optimize infrastructure usage and recommend cost‑saving strategies
 
- Mentoring & Knowledge Sharing:
- Mentor engineers and support their technical growth
- Lead internal workshops and technical talks to upskill the wider team
 
Profile sought
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
Experience
- 7+ years in Cloud/Platform Engineering; 2+ years in a technical leadership role
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Azure; AWS/GCP a plus
- IaC: Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates
- Containers: Docker, Kubernetes
- Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk
- CI/CD: Azure DevOps, ArgoCD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions
- Networking: VNet/SNet setup, DNS, routing, peering
- Security & HA/DR: Security‑first mindset with experience in HA and DR solutions
Nice to Have
- Proficiency in Python, Go, or .NET
- Familiarity with FinOps, ISO 27001, SOC2
- Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Security Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer
- Fluent in English (Portuguese is a plus)
