THE VAULT is hiring a Staff Engineer to design and ship the custody platform's hardest backend code. This is a hands-on IC role with technical leadership, guiding architecture and RFC-driven initiatives, while mentoring senior engineers.

You will own end-to-end features, drive high-load, multi-tenant SaaS systems, and ensure secure, auditable data models. This role emphasizes production code and AI-assisted development with caution around cryptographic cores.

Formación

• Strong CS fundamentals and ability to reason about concurrency and distributed systems.
• Ownership mindset with end-to-end production system responsibility.
• 10+ years backend engineering with staff-level experience or equivalent.
• Track record leading high-load, multi-tenant SaaS in production.

Responsabilidades

• Design, write, and ship critical platform components: policy engine, signing orchestration, key lifecycle workflows, recovery flows, approvals, audit trails.
• Lead cross-cutting initiatives through RFCs, design reviews, and code.
• Build high-load, multi-tenant SaaS systems with strong latency under spikes.
• Ensure security-by-design, secret handling, mTLS/JWT, and SOC 2 / ISO 27001 readiness.
• Profile, test, and optimize relational data models (Postgres or equivalent) and migrations.
• Leverage AI tools for development while avoiding unsafe automation in cryptographic core.
• Set patterns and libraries; own features end-to-end from design to on-call.
• Mentor senior engineers and influence team through reviews and designs.
