A leading sportswear company is seeking a Tax Specialist in Porto, Portugal. This role focuses on ensuring timely VAT payments and performing account reconciliations, along with offering suggestions for process improvements. Candidates should possess a degree in finance or related fields, a strong background in accounting, and proficiency in MS Excel. Ideal applicants will have at least 2 years of relevant experience and the ability to communicate effectively in English.

Qualificações

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in economics, finance or legal.
  • At least 2 years of progressive work experience in the area.
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Excel required.

Responsabilidades

  • Ensure all tax payments are properly and timely executed.
  • Perform monthly VAT accounts reconciliation and postings.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date files and documentation.
  • Suggest process improvements for operational efficiency.

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization

The mission of this department is to ensure the VAT payments are done on a timely manner and VAT accounts are properly reconciled.

The Specialist GBS Tax Accounting will be responsible for doing the VAT accounts reconciliation and perform monthly postings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all Tax payments are properly and timely executed;
  • Ensure postings on VAT accounts are properly executed;
  • Execute Balance Sheet Reconciliation;
  • Responsible for maintaining files and documentation up to date and accurate, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices;
  • Responsible for suggesting process improvements, and suggest new working processes within systems area to ensure efficiency and excellence, as well as support their implementation;
  • Support the team on ongoing projects for the implementation of new systems;
  • Support requests from partner Finance departments and other teams within GBS center;
  • Accountable for executing strong financial controls over the work performed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge in accounting area
  • Knowledge in SAP is a plus
  • Knowledge in VAT compliance is a plus
  • Profficiency in MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Advanced knowledge in MS Excel
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English in a business setting
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and high degree of customer orientation
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
