Tekever in Lisbon, Portugal is seeking an engineer to join the SAR systems team. You will apply mathematics, electromagnetism, and DSP to understand radar behavior and develop software in C, C++, and Python for radar/SAR operations and data processing.
You will work with embedded, PS, and RF specialists, participate in flight tests, and contribute to test readiness and infrastructure while growing radar/SAR expertise from strong fundamentals.
We are looking for an engineer with strong technical foundations - mathematics, electromagnetism, digital signal processing (DSP), and programming - to join our SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) systems team. No prior radar or SAR experience is required: the candidate will build that expertise on the job, supported by the team.
As part of the role, the candidate will join the wider test team on flight test campaigns as a contributing member.
Apply strong fundamentals in mathematics, electromagnetism, and DSP to understand, validate, and improve SAR/radar system behaviour, building deeper radar-specific expertise over time;
Develop and maintain software (C, C++, Python) supporting radar/SAR system operation, testing, and data processing;
Support TX/RX lab testing, documenting results and validating signal behaviour against baseline references;
Participate as a member of the test team during flight test campaigns, supporting mission execution alongside pilots and other team members;
Contribute to test operations readiness — scheduling input, documentation, and coordination with Product Assurance (PA) and other stakeholders as part of the wider team effort;
Contribute to the review and use of test/software infrastructure;
Collaborate closely with software, hardware, and systems engineering peers, including embedded, Processing System (PS), and RF specialists;
Communicate proactively with the team on progress, blockers, and test results.
MSc in Electronics Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a closely related field;
Strong foundations in mathematics, electromagnetism, and digital signal processing (DSP);
Programming experience in C, C++, and Python;
Comfortable working in Linux environments; familiarity with git and standard code review/documentation practices (e.g. Jira, Scrum);
Autonomous, proactive learner, motivated to build radar/SAR-specific expertise from strong general fundamentals;
Good team player, comfortable operating as part of a broader test team, including during flight test campaigns;
Clear, confident communicator.
Exposure to embedded systems development;
Exposure to Processing System (PS) software (e.g. ARM-based platforms, Orin);
Exposure to RF (radio-frequency) systems or hardware;
Prior exposure to SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) or other radar systems;
Exposure to FPGA development and Verilog;
Knowledge of the Odin programming language.
A dynamic and collaborative working environment, with the opportunity to make a real impact;
A competitive salary package, aligned with your proven level of experience;
Meal allowance and health insurance for employees;
Bonus in line with company policy;
Access to the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
Compensation within the posted salary range will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and work location, consistent with applicable laws.
Employment offers may be contingent upon successful completion of a background check and reference verification, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
