Arcesium is seeking a motivated early‑career IT professional to join our Lisbon office. You’ll handle day‑to‑day IT support, hardware provisioning, and onboarding while dipping into real engineering tasks such as automation scripting and CI/CD with AWS infrastructure alongside a distributed team.

Qualificações

• 0–2 years in IT support, sysadmin, or junior engineering.
• Linux fundamentals: command line, permissions, networking, troubleshooting.
• Scripting: basic knowledge and eagerness to expand.

Responsabilidades

• Own IT specialist duties for the Lisbon office: onboarding, hardware provisioning, workstation configuration, and welcome/orientation support.
• Keep the local office running: support workstations, conference rooms, and A/V equipment; manage local IT inventory.
• Provide day-to-day technical support: troubleshoot login problems, device setup, networking, and cross‑team escalation when needed.
• Learn and contribute to automation: write and maintain simple scripts and Ansible playbooks.
• Support CI/CD and cloud infrastructure: shadow and assist senior engineers with GitLab pipelines and AWS tasks.
• Document and communicate clearly: keep records of issues and fixes; communicate blockers to the team.

Position Summary

This is a role for someone early in their career who wants both hands-on IT and real software/infrastructure engineering experience. As part of a small, high-trust local team, you'll be the go‑to person in the Lisbon office for day‑to‑day IT support - onboarding new hires, setting up hardware, keeping meeting rooms and workstations running - while also picking up real engineering work: automation scripting, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS infrastructure support alongside a distributed engineering team. You'll learn fast, work directly with senior engineers, and grow from executing well‑defined tasks into owning small pieces of infrastructure independently.

The Role at a Glance

• Be the local IT point of contact for the Lisbon office - onboarding, hardware, and everyday support.
• Learn and apply core SRE practices - scripting, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure - under theguidance of senior engineers.

What You’ll Do & the Impact You’ll Own

• Own IT specialist duties for the Lisbon office: Handle new-hire onboarding end to end - hardwareprovisioning, account setup, workstation configuration, and welcome/orientation support - so new colleagues are productive from day one.
• Keep the local office running: Support workstations, conference rooms, and A/V equipment; manage​local IT inventory and procurement; act as the first point of contact when something in the office isn’tworking.
• Provide day‑to‑day technical support: Troubleshoot common issues - login problems, device setup, network connectivity, basic Linux/Windows/macOS issues - and know when to elevate to the broaderdistributed team.
• Learn and contribute to automation: Write and maintain simple scripts and Ansible playbooks under guidance to reduce repetitive manual work; progressively take on larger pieces of automation as your skillsgrow.
• Support CI/CD and cloud infrastructure: Get hands‑on with GitLab pipelines and AWS building blocks(IAM, EC2, basic networking) by shadowing and then assisting senior engineers on real infrastructuretasks.
• Build strong fundamentals: Develop working knowledge of Linux systems administration, versioncontrol, and cloud basics through real tickets and projects, not just documentation.
• Document and communicate clearly: Keep clear records of issues and fixes so recurring problems getsolved once, not repeatedly; communicate status and blockers proactively to the wider (mostly remote)team.

What You’ll Need

• Experience: 0-2 years in an IT support, systems administration, or junior engineering role (internships and academic projects count).
• Linux fundamentals: Comfortable in a Linux/Unix environment - command line, file permissions, basic networking, and troubleshooting common issues.
• Scripting: Working knowledge of at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, or similar) and eagernessto write more of it.
• IT support mindset: Comfortable being hands‑on with hardware and being the local face of IT - patient, clear communicator, good with people who aren’t technical.
• Cloud curiosity: Basic familiarity with a cloud platform (AWS preferred) and genuine interest in learninginfrastructure and automation - formal production experience not required.
• Ownership and reliability: Able to work independently as the only (or one of very few) onsite technicalresource, while staying closely connected to a distributed, remote‑first team.
• Language: Fluent English (written and spoken); Portuguese is a plus for local vendor and officecoordination.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field; equivalent practical experience considered.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD concepts (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar).
• Coursework, certifications, or personal projects involving AWS (Cloud Practitioner or higher).
• Prior experience in a hardware/device support or IT helpdesk role.
