Aubay Portugal is seeking a seasoned software professional for backend/fullstack roles with a strong emphasis on AI/LLM application development. You will work with Python, REST, Docker, and modern CI/CD practices to build robust systems, including prompt design, function calling, and end-to-end agentic workflows.

The position favors candidates located in Portugal and encourages a culture of integrity and teamwork.

Qualificações

• At least 6 years of professional experience in software development with a backend or fullstack focus and experience in AI/LLM application development.
• Strong production software engineering skills in Python, including testing, packaging, CI/CD, async, REST, and Docker.
• Deep expertise in LLM application engineering: prompt design, function calling, structured outputs, RAG, vector stores; proficiency with Anthropic and OpenAI APIs.
• Demonstrated habit of evaluation-driven development, building end-to-end agentic systems.
• Familiarity with orchestration tools (LangGraph, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, CrewAI) and at least one cloud data platform with SQL.
• Alignment with corporate culture and a strong customer focus; ability to work in a team with prioritization and daily commitment.
• Position open to candidates currently residing in Portugal; visa sponsorship or relocation support not provided.

What are we looking for?

• At least 6 years of professional experience in software development, with a strong background in backend or fullstack development and recent years with experience in AI/LLM application development.
• Strong production software engineering skills in Python, including testing, packaging, CI/CD, async, REST, and Docker - mandatory.
• Real depth in LLM application engineering, covering prompt design, function calling, structured outputs, RAG, vector stores, and proficiency with Anthropic and OpenAI APIs - mandatory.
• A demonstrated habit of evaluation-driven development, treating evaluations as the primary source of truth for progress, alongside practical experience in building end-to-end agentic systems.
• Familiarity with the orchestration landscape (LangGraph, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, CrewAI) and working fluency with at least one cloud data platform and SQL.
• Alignment with our corporate culture and a commitment to integrity and ethics are highly valued;
• Strong customer focus, teamwork, task prioritisation, and daily commitment are highly appreciated.

This position is open exclusively to candidates currently residing in Portugal. Visa sponsorship or relocation support is NOT provided for this role. Candidates currently based outside Portugal will not be considered.
