Job summary

Cerealis, a major agro-industrial group in Portugal, is seeking a Shift Manager to join the Operations team in Maia/Porto. You will organize shifts, allocate resources, and ensure compliance with Quality, OHS and Food Safety standards.

You will lead and develop the production team, drive continuous improvement and Lean initiatives, and coordinate weekly production plans with the manager. English knowledge is preferred for international cooperation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering/tech field.
• Minimum 3 years in an industrial environment.
• Proven experience in team management.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Organize shift work and allocate resources to meet production plans.
• Contribute to weekly production planning with the manager.
• Coordinate and manage the production team with the manager.
• Identify training needs and provide technical guidance to employees.
• Carry out the team's performance evaluations.
• Ensure adherence to Lean principles and continuous improvement in operations.

We're looking for a Shift Manager to join our Operations team!

Main responsibilities:

• Organizing the work of the shift, allocating the human resources and equipment necessary to comply with the production plans, in accordance with the standards of the Quality, OHS, Environment and Food Safety Systems;
• Contribute opportunities for improvement in the preparation of the weekly production plan, together with the respective manager;
• Coordinating and managing the team together with the manager;
• Identifying training needs and providing technical training to employees to ensure that they are able to carry out their duties;
• Carrying out the team's performance evaluation;
• To ensure that his team complies with and enforces the industrial management methodologies implemented, in accordance with the principles of continuous improvement / Lean, seeking to achieve superior efficiency and effectiveness in the operations under his responsibility.

Requirements:

• Higher education in Industrial Engineering and Management, Mechanics, Electromechanics, Electrotechnics, Chemistry, Food or similar (valued);
• Minimum 3 years' professional experience in an industrial environment;
• Professional experience in team management (mandatory);
• Training and/or knowledge in the areas of Production, Quality Control, Maintenance and Food Processes;
• Knowledge of continuous improvement;
• Knowledge of English (preferred);
• Availability to work rotating shifts from Monday to Sunday (with rotating days off);
