A global sugar manufacturer in Lisbon is seeking a Laboratory Technician to ensure compliance with quality management standards, perform routine analyses, and maintain safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have a technical course in Chemistry and experience in laboratory settings. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential. This role is critical for maintaining product quality and safety standards.

Qualificações

  • Experience of working according to the requirements of International Standards.
  • Basic knowledge of food manufacturing processes.
  • Practical Laboratory experience.

Responsabilidades

  • Run the laboratory shift routine ensuring required safety and hygiene standards.
  • Provide timely QC/QA analysis and technical advice.
  • Input data obtained accurately on to SAP/SharePoint.
  • Maintain the working area in a clean and tidy state.
  • Ensure calibration of laboratory instruments daily.

POSITION SCOPE

To carry out routine analysis and provide analytical data to customers and process personnel in a safe manner and in compliance with the quality management system. To confirm compliance with specifications and/or targets.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To run the laboratory shift routine ensuring the required safety, environmental, quality and hygiene standards are met.
  • To provide timely QC/QA analysis and technical advice to an appropriate accuracy level.
  • To not knowingly allow product which fails to achieve specification to be produced (or continue to be produced), without such awareness being communicated to a higher authority.
  • To work as a team with other operators and laboratory staff to provide mobile, flexible and committed workforce. Assist field operators in basic queries on QC analysis conducted by the field operators.
  • To input the data obtained accurately on to SAP/SharePoint intranet site as appropriate.
  • To perform routine basic instrument maintenance and cleaning.
  • To maintain the working area in a clean and tidy state.
  • Ensuring the calibration of shift work laboratory instruments on a daily basis.
  • Comply with all the standards, policies and requirements of Quality, Food Safety and Food Defense to g uarantee the production of products with Quality, Food Safety and Authenticity.
  • Promoting the Culture of Quality, Food Safety, Occupational Safety, Environment and Sustainability, ensuring compliance with product and process requirements.
