Carrier/Addvolt is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Porto, Portugal, to design, build and maintain software powering connected, electrified fleet solutions. You will work across the full stack, from devices to platforms, collaborating with product, hardware and data teams to ship reliable, scalable features.
You will develop cloud infrastructure on AWS, handle data flows from devices, and participate in the full SDLC with emphasis on CI/CD and system architecture.

As a Software Engineer at Addvolt, you will design, build and maintain the software that powers our connected, electrified fleet solutions — from device connectivity and data pipelines to the platforms our customers use every day. You will work across the full stack, collaborating closely with product, hardware and data teams to ship reliable, scalable features. Design, develop, test and maintain full-stack features across our platform (frontend, backend and APIs). Build and maintain cloud infrastructure and services on AWS (e.g. EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda), ensuring our systems are scalable, secure and cost-efficient. Work with data flowing from hardware devices (CAN, cellular/LTE, MQTT) through backend services and databases, all the way to the UI. Participate in the full software development lifecycle: requirements discussion, design, implementation, code review, testing, deployment and monitoring. Write clean, well‑tested, maintainable code and contribute to improving our engineering practices, CI/CD pipelines and system architecture. Collaborate with product managers, designers and other engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions. Troubleshoot, debug and resolve issues across the stack, including production incidents when needed. Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team.
