Aubay Portugal seeks an experienced Database Engineer to own the performance, availability, and scalability of our production database fleet across PostgreSQL and NoSQL. You will implement robust replication, failover, and DR patterns, and automate provisioning and patching through IaC and CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires deep PostgreSQL knowledge, hands-on NoSQL experience, strong scripting (Python/Go), and production experience on Kubernetes.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of professional experience in database operations, engineering, DevOps, or backend engineering, with a focus on operating databases in production at scale.
• Deep expertise with PostgreSQL, including performance tuning, replication, high availability, backup/restore, and schema design.
• Hands-on experience with at least one NoSQL or document store (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis).
• Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Go) and production experience operating databases within Kubernetes-based platforms.
• Solid understanding of networking and security fundamentals (TCP/IP, TLS, identity, firewalls).
• Fluent in English for effective written and verbal communication in an international team.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure end-to-end operational health, high availability, scalability, and performance of the database fleet (PostgreSQL, NoSQL, time-series).
• Design and implement replication, high availability, failover, and disaster recovery across infrastructure and Azure regions.
• Automate database provisioning, patching, scaling, and failover using IaC and CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop and improve database observability capabilities, including metrics, logs, traces, slow-query analysis, and proactive alerting.
