Iterable is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to design and build end-to-end ML systems in Lisbon, powering intelligent personalization for thousands of customers.

You’ll own the full model lifecycle from research to production, working with Databricks, Spark, AWS, Ray, and Kubernetes to scale ML at enterprise scale. The role emphasizes pragmatic, production-grade code and collaboration with Backend and Platform teams for robust, observable models.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of hands-on MLE experience
• Databricks & Spark mastery: Real experience building, optimizing, and scaling production data pipelines
• Production-level Model Engineering: deep learning and ensemble architectures from training through deployment
• Production Code: Python and/or Scala; readable, modular systems code
• Systems & Infra Experience: microservice backends, distributed compute (Ray/Spark), containers (Kubernetes)
• Pragmatism: prioritize latency, reliability, and measurable customer impact
• Experience with large-scale recommendation systems
• Experience setting up feature stores or model observability tools
• Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Pulumi)

Responsabilidades

• Build and ship core product ML capabilities, including send-time optimization, recommendations, and personalization
• Own end-to-end model lifecycle: EDA, feature engineering, distributed training, deployment, latency monitoring, online experimentation
• Build and scale data pipelines and serving architectures using Databricks, Spark, AWS, Ray, and Kubernetes
• Partner with Backend and Platform teams to elevate feature serving and data architecture
• Mentor engineers and help set the technical direction for ML at Iterable
• Design data pipelines for easy model testing and iteration
• Benchmark and improve multi-armed bandit implementations
• Develop tools to visualize and debug features and models
