AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking a Senior Java Developer to design and build secure, scalable server-side solutions, including a client integration system built from the ground up, in Porto, Portugal.

You will work on SaaS products for Fortune 500 brands, focusing on microservices, observability, and a DevOps mindset. You will collaborate with Design and Product teams to understand requirements, estimate work, plan sprints, and meet delivery timelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of SaaS experience.
• Proficient in Java and SQL.
• Experience with microservices architecture.
• DevOps mindset with automation.
• Good observability and strong CI/CD practices.
• Ability to meet deadlines and deliver quality results.
• Upper-intermediate or higher English.

Responsibilities

• Design and build a secure, scalable client integration system.
• Collaborate with Design and Product to plan sprints and meet delivery timelines.
• Plan and estimate development work and delivery timelines.
• Contribute to technical documentation and automated build/deployment processes.
• Review code and participate in pull-request deployments.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to design and build secure, scalable server-side solutions, including a client integration system built from the ground up.

MUST HAVES

• 5+ years of SaaS experience.
• High level of proficiency in Java and SQL.
• Knowledge of or prior experience with microservices architecture.
• DevOps mindset of automation and continuous improvement.
• Good understanding of observability and familiarity with strong CI/CD practices.
• A proven ability to meet deadlines, motivate others, and consistently produce high-quality, impactful results.
• Upper-intermediate and higher English proficiency.

NICE TO HAVES

• Experience at SaaS companies.
• Experience building software in the cloud (AWS preferred).

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Design and build a clean, reusable client integration system following secure cloud software best practices.
• Collaborate with Design and Product teams to understand requirements, estimate work, plan sprints, and meet delivery timelines.
• Plan and estimate development work and delivery timelines accurately.
• Contribute to technical documentation and automated build and deployment processes that improve engineering efficiency.
• Review code submitted by other software engineers and submit your own code for review as part of the pull-request deployment process.
