valantic in Lisbon, Portugal, is looking for an experienced software engineer in the Data & AI domain to contribute to innovative client projects across industries. You will design and develop scalable software across the full application stack, from user-facing apps and APIs to backend services and cloud infrastructure.

Qualificações

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot production experience.
• End-to-end development across frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and cloud.
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices and distributed systems.
• Experience with modern web frontend frameworks.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
• Hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsabilidades

• Design and develop scalable software across the full stack from UI to backend.
• Own features through their lifecycle: design, implement, test, deploy and monitor.

What distinguishes you

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of professional experience as a software engineer
• Strong Java and Spring Boot experience in production
• End‑to‑end development: frontend, backend, APIs, databases, integrations, cloud
• Good knowledge of REST APIs, microservices and distributed systems
• Experience with modern web frontend frameworks
• Experience with message‑driven architectures (e.g. Kafka)
• Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases
• Solid understanding of security (auth, authz), validation and error handling
• Experience with automated testing (unit, integration, API, e2e)
• Familiar with clean code, SOLID and design patterns
• Experience with code reviews and Git‑based workflows
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
• Hands‑on with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience deploying and operating applications in the cloud
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and agile development practices
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools (e.g. Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana)
• Terraform, serverless and managed cloud services are a plus
• Experience integrating applications with data/analytics, ML or AI services is a plus
• Exposure to LLM services, RAG or frameworks like Spring AI / LangChain is a plus
• Uses AI‑assisted coding tools regularly
• Fluent in English; German is a plus
• Strong team player with good intercultural communication skills
