Catawiki is seeking a hands-on Senior Financial Accountant to join the Accounting & Reporting team in Portugal. You will own month-end close activities, coordinate with the Netherlands team, and provide strong financial reporting across an international marketplace.

You’ll work remotely with occasional travel to Amsterdam or Portugal, bringing IFRS knowledge and strong accounting fundamentals to drive scalable finance processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics or similar.
• Portugal Certified Accountant status or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with month-end close activities, including journals, accruals and reconciliations.
• IFRS knowledge is a plus.
• Experience supporting audits and working with internal or external stakeholders.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsabilités

• Own selected month-end close activities and related journal entries, accruals and reconciliations.
• Coordinate close processes with a focus on accuracy, completeness and timely delivery.
• Act as a Finance partner to Payroll ensuring accurate payroll processing and controls.
• Analyze financial movements and variances, providing clear insights to stakeholders.
• Support internal and external audits with documentation and follow-ups.
• Collaborate with foreign entities and external partners on reporting using Workday.
• Represent Accounting & Reporting in cross-functional projects and assess impact on Finance processes.
• Proactively identify risks, issues and opportunities for simplification.
• Drive improvements in Finance processes, controls and reporting for scalable workflows.
