A leading software provider in Porto is looking for an experienced embedded systems engineer to develop and maintain innovative technical software solutions for the automotive industry. This role involves working closely with hardware and software developers, defining requirements for safe customer solutions, and contributing to impactful products. The company offers a permanent or B2B contract, health insurance, and a modern work environment in the city center.

Qualificações

• 5-7 years of software and/or system development for embedded systems, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Strong understanding of embedded systems and methodologies of requirements engineering.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, test, maintain and document embedded technical software.
• Define development and testing requirements for functionally safe customer solutions.
• Collaborate closely with customers and hardware/software developers.

Project Overview

We are a fast-growing team developing innovative microelectronics-based solutions for the automotive industry. Our components are designed to communicate, measure, regulate, and control key vehicle functions related to safety, comfort, powertrain, and networking.

Our Latest Products Include: Lighting systems, LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging), Ultrasonic ranging, Object and gesture recognition,

Thermal management, Electronic fuse control, Smart Sensor Platforms (SSPs), and others.

Requirements

Required

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic and Computer Engineering or a comparable technical qualification;
• 5-7 years of software and/or system development for embedded systems, preferably in the automotive industry;
• Strong understanding of embedded systems and C programming;
• Experience with HW, oscilloscope;
• Experience in the ARM Cortex‑M environment;
• Knowledge of automotive bus systems (focus on LIN/CAN/FR) and interfaces;
• Methodological knowledge of requirements engineering, software architecture, programming and testing as well as knowledge of the relevant standards (Automotive Spice, ISO 26262) and agile software development methods;

Nice to have

• Experience with sensor technology (ultrasonic applications, pressure measurement technology, filter concepts and characteristic curve correction methods);
• Experience with light control and mixing methods/calibration (focus on RGB‑LED);
• Experience with SW Requirements and Architecture design, SW Detail Design and Implementation.

Responsibilities

• Product‑oriented development, testing, maintenance and documentation of embedded technical software;
• Supporting the development of functionally safe customer solutions by defining development and test requirements;
• Close cooperation with customers, business lines, hardware/software developers and test managers.
