ZWIM is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to own the in-house firmware stack for a consumer IoT product. You will work on ARM Cortex-M4 BLE, sensor fusion, and OTA updates, collaborating with founders and external partners to build a tight hardware-software loop.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of embedded firmware, a shipped consumer product, and strong C/BLE skills. Lisbon-based or willing to relocate, with right to work in Portugal.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of professional embedded firmware engineering.
• At least one shipped consumer hardware product that real people bought and used.
• Experience across the full cycle: prototyping through production, including manufacturing tooling and post-launch support.
• Strong embedded C coding practices for maintainable firmware.
• ARM Cortex-M4 with BLE SDK or RTOS experience.
• BLE 5.0: custom GATT services, connection management, throughput and latency optimisation.
• IMU integration and sensor fusion experience.
• Low-power design and battery life engineering for consumer devices.
• OTA DFU — building reliable over-the-air update pipelines.
• Persistent NVM storage on embedded targets.

Responsabilidades

• Own the firmware stack. Embedded C on an ARM Cortex-M4 BLE SoC; keep it stable, clean, and shipping.
• BLE architecture: custom GATT services, connection stability, iOS/Android interoperability.
• Sensor integration: IMU data processing, force sensor ADC pipeline, sensor fusion, calibration workflows.
• Power and reliability: low-power states, battery life management, robust production code.
• OTA DFU: maintain and extend OTA update pipelines.
• Manufacturing tooling: production-line flashing, calibration fixtures, serial number provisioning.
• Certification support: FCC/CE/RED, BLE SIG qualification as markets scale.
• Cross-disciplinary integration: define contracts between firmware and mobile/game layers.
