• 5+ years in electronics/electromechanical product development, ideally in robotics.

ABOUT DATAMENTORS

Datamentors is building Ardia, a universal AI control layer for robotics, alongside proprietary robot hardware for hospitality and other service environments. We combine Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models, robotics software, teleoperation and real-world validation to move from research prototypes toward dependable robotic systems.

Our team develops proprietary systems and integrates commercial robot platforms across humanoids, mobile manipulators and quadrupeds. Engineers joining now will shape the hardware, integration and validation standards used as the product and pilot-production capability mature.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Lead electrical and electronics engineering for Datamentors-developed robot hardware and for adaptations of commercial robot platforms. On proprietary systems, you will own electrical architecture, custom electronics, harnesses, power distribution, sensing and design release. On commercial platforms, you will own safe, documented integration of sensors, compute, end effectors and interfaces. This is a hands-on senior individual-contributor role connecting Robotics R&D, suppliers and pilot assembly.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 5+ years in electronics, electrical or electromechanical product development, ideally in robotics, drones, automotive or industrial automation
• Strong hands-on schematic and PCB design experience in KiCad, Altium or equivalent, including layout review and prototype bring-up
• Working knowledge of robot power systems, batteries/BMS, motor drives, grounding, protection and safe bring-up
• Experience with industrial communications and lab tools such as oscilloscopes, current probes and protocol analysers
• Demonstrated experience taking electromechanical hardware from prototype to a documented, testable pilot-production release; able to work on site in Caniçal

Nice to have

• Robotics, drones, automotive or industrial automation background
• IPC-A-620, EMI/EMC, functional-safety circuits or embedded C/C++ bring-up experience
